Confirm the request
Record the requested end date and review the applicable agreement and local requirements. Tell the tenant how to clear the unit, return any relevant items and contact the facility. Do not promise every tenancy has a seven-day notice period.
Inspect the space
Arrange access and check the unit after the customer leaves. Record condition, remaining belongings and any follow-up required. Do not mark a unit available simply because an intended move-out date has arrived.
Reconcile the account
Review rent, pending collections, deposits, credits and any justified charges. Decide refunds according to the agreement and applicable requirements. Confirm how the owner records the end of the lease and prevents an unintended future collection.
Keep the final account in one place
At move-out, the lease, balance, payments and documents should be in one record. Unit Manager Pro keeps them together so you can reconcile the final account before releasing the unit back to inventory.
Release and learn
Update inventory only after the checks are complete, confirm the outcome to the customer and retain relevant records. Review reasons for leaving without promising automatic refunds, exit surveys or a fixed 24-hour turnaround.
